From finishing at the bottom of the points table in 2021 to winning six games on the trot this year, it has been a magical turnaround for Barbados Royals in the CPL. Led by the astute David Miller, the team has functioned like a well-oiled unit, with every player playing their part to perfection and stepping up when required. The results are there for everyone to see. A phenomenal net run rate indicates just how comprehensive most of their victories have been. The top order has found its feet, the bowling unit has been strengthened after Mujeeb Ur Rahman's arrival, and the fielding has been top-notch.

With four league games left and one foot in the playoffs, Miller & co. will be aiming to get one more victory under their belt and confirm their spot.

CPL 2022: Match 19 - Barbados Royals vs Jamaica Tallawahs

Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad

10: 00 AM local time

The last time these two teams clashed this season, the Royals were all over the Tallawahs, beating them by 8 wickets. Obed McCoy registered an impressive three-wicket haul that dismantled their batting line-up. And then came Quinton de Kock and Corbin Bosch, scoring their respective fifties to ensure the target of 157 was chased down comfortably. While the Royals are the only team to stay unbeaten in the tournament so far, the Tallawahs are placed in the second position, having won 3 of their 6 matches.

At the Queen's Park though, the Tallawahs have a superior success rate, winning 8 of their 13 games, whereas the Royals have won 3 of their 13. Given their current form, it wouldn't be a surprise to see the Royals dominate this one.

In the spotlight: Kyle Mayers

'Dappa' as he's nicknamed, has been in scintillating form this season, and it has helped the Royals get off to strong starts in the Powerplay. His 285 runs and three fifties in 6 matches are the highest for any batter in the tournament. With the ball, he has 5 scalps to his name so far and continues to give crucial breakthroughs to his team.

Team News

The Royals made as many as 3 three changes to their line-up against TKR, with Ramon Simmonds, Rahkeem Cornwall returning to the eleven, while Mujeeb Ur Rahman made his debut for the franchise. A strong Playing XI and a stronger bench strength make the Royals the team to watch out for this season. Skipper Miller would be keen for his team's winning streak to continue all the way till the end.
